RiteAid Closes, but New Opportunities Open

The well known RiteAid Pharmacy Company has now closed its doors permanently. But, locals have turned it into something positive and door opening for small businesses, like food trucks! The Empty parking lot has been a hot spot for locals to enjoy the unique foods created by food truck owners.

Food truck owners have seen significant success in their business, with one owner stating It has been a blessing, my business is selling out, but I really miss the ice cream.. Many community members have said that they like the idea that the parking lot is being used for the benefit of the community, with others saying that they have expanded their palette as food trucks show up to serve different cuisines.

What does this mean to the community? People are loving it! It serves as a community gathering place and also a place to try out and support small businesses like the food trucks. Struggling small businesses owners have also felt the positive impact. Overall, the community is loving the opportunity that the closure of RiteAid provided, really showing that something negative can turn into a positive impact.
